Pre 1840 The Way It Was District 10 Fall Camporee Heart Butte Scout Reservation A great time was had by all. The theme for the fall camp was Pre 1840 The Way It Was. The weekend centered around camping styles of the pre 1840s. The scouts learned how to cook meals on the open fire, start fires with other means than matches and also to use other sources of light other than flashlights. On Saturday the Scouts participated in a full day of working on the wilderness survival merit badge and also a service project. The Scouts attended four stations that full filled the majority of the requirements for the merit badge. For the service project they helped to clean the Chapel area for services on Sunday. The evening closed with an awesome camp fire program. All units participated with new and very funny skits. The local Webelos Scouts enjoyed their first overnight camping experience in their Scouting careers. They also joined in making shelters from materials found readily at hand in the camp. No tents were allowed for Saturday night and the Webelos held up their end of the bargain. Dist 10 is very proud of the Scouts for another great weekend and the wonderful way they helped show the Webelos a great first experience.
