The primary objective of the association is
to preserve the council’s camps and improve them through the use of the members’
time, talents and assets so they can be enjoyed by other scouts and scouters in
the future.
Leo received the award in recognition of his
“unofficial” work as camp ranger at Heart Butte Scout Reservation. He was
specifically cited for his major roles in the chapel and lodge roofing projects,
construction of the shower building, improvements to the water system,
construction of new steps to the flag field, improvements at the rifle range,
building of the archery range, and generally making the camp safe for everyone.
Leo was nominated for this award by Ken and
Eloise Leggate. In addition to the plaque he received, Leo’s name will be
engraved on a permanent plaque in the Director’s office at Camp Wilderness.
